The second season of “House of the Dragon” will be shorter than the first. The continuation of the series will take place over eight episodes, which is two fewer than the first season, which has ten. According to Warner Bros. Discovery, the decision to produce a shortened season is fully tied to the plot of the story and there is no connection to cost cuts – such as those recently announced on HBO Max.
The television network has long-term plans for the series and is already planning more seasons, plausible justifications for producing shorter versions. An alleged third season of the series would already be planned, guaranteeing the extension of the story.
With the changes in the scheduling and execution of the plot, the big battle that would have taken place in the second season should only be shown in the following season.
“House of the Dragon” is available on the NOW streaming platform and on HBO Max. The series has a cast consisting of Emma D’arcy, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Eve Best, Rhys Ifans, among others.
