Discover the fantastic kingdom of Naya! A true ode to nature, this Ukrainian animated film is set behind the high Black Mountains, where a kingdom inhabited by fantastical creatures is hidden.

For centuries they have protected the source of eternal life from the human world with infinite powers. Until the day Naya, the new chosen one of this enchanted forest, meets Lucas, a young man lost in the mountains. Against the rules established over millennia, they will meet again, regardless of the consequences for the kingdom. The adventure has just begun.

Directed by Ole Malamuz and Alexandra Ruban, Kingdom of Naia is produced by the animation studio Animagrad. Founded in 2012, it quickly became one of the largest animation studios in Eastern Europe. Animagrad is currently developing several films and series for the international market.

Inspired by a play by Ukrainian writer Lesia Ukrainki.forest song“It took Naya 7 years of work in the royal studio. For the creatures of the Enchanted Forest, the animators were inspired by heroes from Slavic legends.

In ancient times, humans destroyed the nature of the Naia Kingdom, and since then they have been banished from this wonderful world. Therefore, the forest dwellers are convinced that humans are greedy, dangerous, and determined to plunder their natural resources to satisfy their extravagance. But the arrival of the optimistic musician Lucas and his meeting with the forest sultan Naya will allow her to change…

The feature film, sold in more than 20 countries, was released in Ukraine at the beginning of March and is a real success, as during its first weekend of operation it recorded 190,000 viewers in cinemas across the country. To date, it is the highest-grossing Ukrainian animated film since the country’s independence in 1991.

The film has so far sold more than 650,000 tickets in Ukrainian cinemas. In a country in the midst of war, this love story based on a national fairy tale allows families to escape by 1:40 p.m.
