Do you feel like immersing yourself in a network of espionage and mystery, with the White House as a backdrop?
Are you looking for a new series to get hooked on? Do you feel like immersing yourself in a network of espionage and mystery, with the White House as a backdrop? We get it…and Netflix also knows what your needs are. For this reason, it has just released a new serial thriller that has already been sweeping the platform since its arrival on March 24. Is about ‘The Night Agent’, the new suspense bet that will keep you on your toes for 10 episodes (all of them loaded with what you like the most: action and puzzles).
But what can you expect from this new Netflix series? Who stars in it and what adventures lie ahead?
Starring Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan, ‘The Night Agent’ follows the story of Peter Sutherland, an FBI agent relegated to a small office in the basement of the White House, whose sole function is to guard an emergency telephone line for agents of the secret service of the United States.
The occupants of this job are known as Night Agents, since they must be watching the phone during the early morning, in case a colleague needs to be helped late at night. (spoilers: almost never happens).
However, and how could it be otherwise because otherwise there would be no series, one night the device starts ringing. Thus will begin the mission of his life. But, before continuing, we must explain some more information…
The series starts off with a good hook. We meet Peter outside his office, in a subway car. By chance (and fiction, of course), he realizes that a hooded man has left an abandoned backpack under a seat and got off the train. Following your investigative instinct, he takes a look at it and finds a bomb inside. Quickly, she raises the alarm and manages to save the situation.
However, this attack seems to be a link in something bigger. It’s not something isolated… Peter, who happened to be there, will find himself entangled in a superior plot, which is directly connected to the night call that we talked about earlier.
Enter the scene: Rose. The woman on the other end of the phone. Who is she? The young woman appears in the story also by coincidence of fate. After losing her job in a large multinational, she goes to the house of her uncles (the only close family she has left) to seek shelter and support. (spoiler 2: this is not the case either). The same night of his arrival, the house is assaulted by two unknown figures and his uncles are murdered.
Before die, they give you a phone number and some passwords that you must say when your call is answered. In hiding, Rose does as she’s told and contacts Peter. After a harrowing situation, they manage to rescue her from her. However, the two figures manage to flee.
Rose thus discovers that her uncles were secret government agents, and that those who have ended their lives were looking for something that marriage protected.
Who is it? What is really happening? Since we don’t want to go into more spoilerswe recommend that, if you have been interested in what you have read, you run to marathon the new hit from the Netflix catalog.
Will it become one of the best suspense and intrigue series in history? Perhaps one of the best suspense series of the 21st century? Who knows… At the moment he is pointing ways…
