‘The Night Agent’: The end of the Netflix series, explained

Have you reached the end of ‘The Night Agent’, the new thriller that is sweeping Netflix? Since it appeared on the platform, on March 23, the Netflix series has managed to be among the top positions in the audience rankings. Now, with its 10 episodes having been at your disposal for a few days, we are about to explain the end of the season, in case any detail of the tangled plot has been overlooked.

After meeting Peter, the young FBI night agent, and Rose, the niece of a couple of spies murdered at the beginning of the season, we see how a series of hidden plots begin to unfold in front of them, and how they become the target of two dangerous hitmen.

But, how do the main characters end up? We will stop to explain the outcome of each one and, in the same way, the story in general.

‘The Night Agent’: The ending, explained

Who has been behind all the catastrophes that we have seen during the episodes? From the beginning, with the attack on the subway in which Peter was traveling, everything has been connected and has been the work of two men: Vice President Redfield and Mr. Wick.

His goal from the beginning was to kill Omar Zadar, an enemy leader with whom President Travers planned to establish peaceful ties. The subway attack sought to blow up two complete blocks (in which Zadar was located), and thus his murder looked like an accident. However, the plan is derailed by Peter’s intervention, forcing them to reframe the situation.

Rose’s uncles, aware of the dark operations, are killed to prevent the information from coming to light. Due to Rose’s presence on the night of the crime, the young woman becomes a new target for villains.

Knowing both scenarios, the rest is easy to understand.

Basically, Both Peter and Rose were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Without them, the attack would have happened as planned and no one would have suspected anything. Likewise, Rose’s uncles would have died and no one would have done anything.

After a long investigation, the protagonists arrive at Camp David, where the last attack will take place. In it, Omar Zadar and President Travers will be assassinated and Vice President Redfield will be named leader of the country.

They manage to avoid the first explosion, evacuating the place before the first bomb explodes. However, there is an alternative plan. The helicopter in which the President has planned her escape will also jump into the air. Peter sneaks past the security forces and prevents the vehicle from taking off. Thanks to him, the President is saved and the Vice President is captured.

‘The Night Agent’: How do Peter and Rose end?

After all his heroics, our protagonist achieves his goal and becomes a Secret Agent for the Government of the United States of America. The President, who owes him an incalculable favor, grants him this new position and reveals the information he seeks about his father. Despite being publicly condemned as a traitor, the man was actually a double agent and died helping his homeland.

Thus, Peter, reconciled with his past, is able to embark on a journey to his future. His new mission? We still don’t know her… We’ll have to wait for a second season to find out what her destiny is.

For his part, Rose tells Peter about her plans to return to California, where she will try to get her job back at the helm of a cybersecurity company.. Now, having learned from the mistakes of yesteryear, he sets out to do things with a new perspective.

The couple ends up separated, but with the intention of meeting again. Will they do it in the next batch?

‘The Night Agent’: How do the villains end?

Both Vice President Redfield and Peter’s boss Farr are taken to prison permanently.. The first, for orchestrating all the attacks that have taken place in the season. The second, even without being directly the mastermind of the operation, is condemned for having cooperated with her movements. According to her, in defense of her homeland.

So, they are condemned as traitors to the State and forced to pay for their atrocities. The only villain that we have lost track of (and that makes us imagine that the continuation of the series is more than possible) is Wick.

Redfield’s partner is on the run and his whereabouts are unknown. Perhaps the paths of our protagonists will come together again to capture the criminal.

Two other of the most important characters in the series are the couple of hitmen who continually stalk Peter and Rose. His role basically focuses on harassing and blocking paths for the protagonists. In addition, they are responsible for the death of Rose’s uncles.

Dale is killed by Peter after a hand-to-hand fight (in which Rose gives him a good beating with a stick). Ellen, a hilarious psychopath (everything must be said), She dies falling from a tower, after being pushed by Rose.

Despite their attempts, our protagonists have proven to be stronger and more cunning.

‘The Night Agent’: How do Maddie and Chelsea end?

To end, The last plot that we still had to solve was that of the Vice President’s daughter.

After being kidnapped and released, she is taken to Camp David, where her father intends to protect her from the attack by hiding her in his security bunker. However, the young woman refuses to give in to her plans and assures her that if the explosion occurs, she will tell the whole truth. Redfield, demonstrating her ambitious and inhuman character, throws her out of the shelter and sentences her to die.

Since this doesn’t happen, Maddie testifies against her father and for Peter. After a life controlled by her parent’s escorts, she is finally free.

At his side we find Chelsea, the head of security who guards the girl. Deprived of her employment, and having played a pivotal role in saving the President, he is granted a new position on Travers’ defense team.

Basically, the series ends with a happy ending for all. (Excepting those who fell along the way… We couldn’t collect them all in this article, even if we wanted to…).

If it weren’t for Wick’s unknown whereabouts, and for the new mission that awaits Peter, we might think that the series has closed its doors. Luckily, that doesn’t seem to be the case. We will be attentive to discover any news that Netflix wants to share with its audience…
