KION has announced the date of the Russian premiere of Swedish writer Max Seek’s feature-length debut horror film Don’t Knock. The Finnish director also participated in the work on the film. Jonas Payunen. The film will be available to subscribers of the online cinema from April 6. This project became a hit at the International Film Festival in Sitges, Spain, the world’s leading horror, fantasy and science fiction festival.

The film tells about the trip of two sisters and a brother to their childhood home, where something terrible happened many years ago. Matilda (Saana Koivisto) and Maria (Inka Cullen) and Mikko (Pekka Strang) reunite for the first time in years to discuss the sale of their parents’ house, where a tragedy happened many years ago: an unknown person broke into the dwelling and hacked their father with an ax, and their mother immediately after that disappeared without a trace. The return sets off a chain of mysterious events, and they realize that the forest around them has always harbored a danger associated with ancient spirits…

According to the creators, they have been friends since childhood, and since then they have dreamed of making a movie. Don’t Knock is not just a horror movie set in gloomy Scandinavian locations with minimalist musical accompaniment, but also a story about childhood traumas and family secrets, which often turn out to be the cause of misfortunes in adulthood.
