The beginning of Lula’s 3rd term has a lower popular consensus than his previous moves to the Planalto
Research Data sheet released this Saturday, the 1st, indicated that, in the first three months of his mandate, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is approved by 38% of Brazilians and disapproved by 29%. Another 30% consider the government to be regular and 3% did not know or did not want to answer.
The result of the approval shows a popularity below the level seen in the first months of Lula’s other two terms in his first 90 days in government. In 2003 it was approved by 43% and rejected by only 10%. Meanwhile, in 2007, the recorded rates were 48% and 14%, respectively.
The institute interviewed 2,028 people, in 126 municipalities, between March 29 and 30. The margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points.
