Following her first encounter with Kate Bishop and Clint Barton, the Ronin Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) will star in her own Marvel series on Disney+.
Echo, Marvel’s first Native American female superhero, is here. Has appeared briefly at the end of chapter 2 of ‘Hawkeye’, has been officially presented in the third, and has given much to talk about throughout the series. She is also the next protagonist of one of the Marvel series for Disney +.
Although rumors of a series about the character had been circulating for some time, We did not have an official confirmation of ‘Echo’ until November 2021. From that moment, and since we learned that it would appear in ‘Hawk’s Eye’, the expectation has only increased. And it is that the character is going to be inserted into the earthly mafia world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to which the adventures of Kate Bishop and Clint Barton belong. And that may mean much-anticipated appearances and reunions. Has anyone mentioned Daredevil and the Kingpin? Let’s see it.
This is everything we know about ‘Echo’the upcoming Disney+ series.
‘Echo’: Premiere date of the series
Since the series has not had an official confirmation by Marvel until November 2021, there is still a long way to go before we can see it on our small screens. However, both Disney+ and Marvel have confirmed the start of filming in Atlanta in May 2022.
This start of filming has also brought the official release dateor at least the year: we will have to wait until 2023.

‘Echo’: Synopsis
Echo is what Maya Lopez calls herself, the first Native American superheroine of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character is relatively recent in the comics, having made his first appearance in ‘Daredevil Vol. 2, #9’ (1999) at the hands of David Mack and Joe Quesada.
She is a gifted athlete with tremendous visual reflexes. Her greatest ability is, in the manner of Taskmaster, the ability to copy her opponent’s moves; She’s called Echo for a reason, right? Nevertheless, Echo relies exclusively on these visual reflexes as she is deaf. She is thus the second non-hearing heroine to join the UCM after Makkari in ‘Eternals’. Will they get to know each other?
Echo’s environment is quite different from Makkari’s. Her first appearance was in a comic Daredevil, with whom she has always been linked in her adventures. As such, Echo moves, more than in great cosmic fights, through the sewers of the city. In fact, She is the adoptive daughter of the Kingpin.which is why she has grown up surrounded by mafia connections.
The most important thing about Echo is its conversion into ronina righteous and morally ambiguous identity that has been adopted by several characters in the comics and that, in the UCM, we have already seen occupied by Clint Barton. Echo will thus belong to that gallery of characters neither entirely good nor entirely bad to which Marvel is paying special attention in this Phase 4, especially in the series, along with Loki, Yelena or John Walker from ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
As for the plot of ‘Echo’ itself, the official synopsis indicates that maya lopez will have to bear the consequences of their behavior in New York as a result of the events narrated in ‘Ojo de Halcón’ and that, in order to move on with his life, He must confront his past, reconnect with his Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community.
‘Echo’: Cast
Marvel Studios seems determined that its characters with special attributes be represented by members of their own community, as has already happened with deaf people regarding the heroine Makkari of ‘Eternals’, who was played by deaf actress Lauren Ridloff. Similarly, the deaf and Native American protagonist of ‘Echo’ will be played by Alaqua Cox who, after his debut in ‘Hawk’s Eye’, thus continues his career with the Marvel character and now with his own series.
Alaqua Cox will not be alone and that’s it confirmed the presence of Chaske Spencer (‘Wild Indian’), Devery Jacobs (‘American Gods’), Graham Greene (‘Wind River’), Zahn McClarnon (‘Doctor Sleep’) and Both Cardinal (‘The killers of the flower moon’).
Also, given the tie-in of the series with ‘Hawkeye’, it is also very likely that Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld reappear in ‘Echo’ as, respectively, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop. It is not yet official information, but the fact that Clint Barton speaks sign language seems to make him an ideal partner for Maya Lopez.
Fans want the series to connect, like the comics, with Daredevil and the character of Daredevil to reappear. charlie coxin addition to Vincent D’Onofrio in the skin of the mobster Kingpin. The return of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ could be reason enough.
‘Threw out’: showrunner and director
The episodes of the series will be directed by sydneyfreeland (‘Navajo’) and Catriona McKenzie (‘Gunaikurnai’), while the screenwriters of the project Ethan Cohen (‘Men in Black 3’) and Emily Cohen They will double functions and will act as executive producers of ‘Echo’.
‘Echo’: Trailer, images, poster
Coinciding with the start of filming, Disney + has made the first photo official in which Alaqua Cox can be seen in what appears to be the back of a railway car. Here it is:
