More than a year after the airing of Season 2, I Promise, the French adaptation of This Is Us returns this Monday, April 3rd on TF1 for the third installment of the Gallo family’s adventures.
Who says new season, says new characters. More attractive and complex than each other, these newbies will once again prove to be particularly important in the lives of Galo.
Who are Alexander, Carol and Emily? We tell you everything!
Alexandre (Francois Pouron) vs. Nicky (Michael Angarano).
It’s definitely one of the big events of Season 3, I promise, as viewers finally get to meet Alexandre (Francois Pouron), the brother of Paul (Hugo Becker), with whom the latter fought the Algerian War. An opportunity to learn more about the mysterious past of the patriarch of the Gallo family.
Thus, this new season will make it possible to discover his family history, his connection with his brother Alexander, but above all to understand why he never talked about it with his family.
If in the American version Michael Angarano gave his functions to Nikki’s brother Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), it is Francois Pouron who will play the role of Alexander in the French version of This Is Us. A character who will be seen in many flashbacks and who will create scenes rich in emotions.
Carol (Constance Dole) vs. Carol (Filica Rashad)
This year, we promise Agnes (Léonie Sigama)’s family is growing. Following Estelle (Sarah Martins), her cousin, viewers will meet Carol, her mother. With this new character, the writers of the TF1 program will explore the personal and family history of Agnes, which is as exciting and complex as the history of the Gallo family.
In the original version, played by Phylicia Rashad, it is Constance Dole who will play this strict mother in the movie, I promise.
Emily (Adil Dehbi) VS Malik (ASANTE BLACKK)
As he celebrates his fiftieth birthday, Matisse (Narcissus Mame) reaches a turning point in his life. Indeed, the latter begins a new professional adventure thanks to his meeting with Emil (Adil Dehbi), a promising young navigator whom he takes under his wing. And as much as we have to say, the young man will not leave anyone indifferent, especially Violet (Matilda Hascoat) and Rose (Sandy Affiun).
Because of her young age and her relationship with Matthias, Emil is able to match Malik (Asante Black) in This Is Us. If there are indeed multiple echoes between the two characters, Emily’s personal history and the bonds she forms over the course of the season will distance her from Malik. In addition, the channel told us that the production has moved to the American version for adaptation purposes.
