The ‘Heartstopper’ actress, Yasmin Finney, has shared a painful experience in public that he recently suffered as a result of a transphobic comment. The star plays the role of Elle Argent in the series coming-of-age from Netflix, but previously had risen to popularity on TikTok after speaking openly about her life as a transgender teen.
On Twitter, Finney informed his followers of this horrible moment with a stranger inside a restaurant.

“‘Are you a boy or a girl?’ Today, a woman yelled this at me in front of all her peers as I was about to leave a restaurant… Erm, I don’t know, what do you think I am? “wrote the actress.
“Clearly she was in shock when she said this and then blurted out, ‘I’m not transphobic, I have trans friends.’ At this point I gave up hope lol.”. His fan base wasted no time in showing their support. As one person responded on Twitter: “I’m so sorry you went through that love. You’re amazing and awesome and we’re here to remind you every day if you need to.”

In an interview with pinknewsFinney spoke about the opportunity to play Elle in ‘Heartstopper’.
“Really, really, really, it’s very rare that a story has a trans character and doesn’t necessarily delve into gender dysphoria, depression or bullying, but only the positive: friendship, chosen family, moving from an all-boys school to an all-girls one… Everything that’s natural about being trans is highlighted, and I’m so happy to be that positive representation that we’ve needed for so many years.”he continued.
