Paddington in Peru has confirmed that filming will begin this summer

Damn. All seemed a little quiet for a while there on the Paddington front, like the two Paddington AND Paddington 2 are highly acclaimed films (the latter was one of the highest rated films of all time on Rotten Tomatoes and a favorite of Nic Cage on The unbearable weight of a huge talent), it took a while for the threequel to emerge. We learned last summer that Paddington’s next film would be titled Paddington in Peru, and returning the beloved bear to his native jungle, but beyond that, very little news has surfaced. Until now.

Don’t worry everyone Paddington in Peru it’s still happening, and it will happen soon. As reported by Expiration, is expected to go into production this summer, with filming starting in July. And, as we’ve known for some time, it will be a filmmaker transferred, with Paul King trapped in the chocolate factory with wonka. In exchange, In Peru will mark the directorial debut of Dougal Wilson (no pressure!), but with King, Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton at the helm of the story. Burton co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Foster and James Lamont.

Of course, the move to Peru means we may also get a different flavor of Paddington’s film on camera: Will the Brown family and the folks of Windsor Gardens still make an appearance? And what new additions will come into play as Paddington embarks on his global journey? We’ll have to wait and see as filming approaches, but for now, at least, we know Paddington himself is excited. “I must write to Aunt Lucy to tell her the good news,” he wrote in response to the latest news.

More importantly, does Knuckles McGinty cater and have enough oranges to make ridiculous amounts of jam?
