Luke Besson: What is this surprise film shot during your imprisonment?

In January 2022, we learned that Luke Besson was going to find his way to the plateaus after his legal failure.

The director of Leon and the fifth element was actually accused by actor Sand Van Roy of rape. In this case, the court announced his dismissal in December 2021.

After problems with the law, Luke Besson seems determined to get back on stage. The filmmaker has the project DogMan on Fire, the story of a young man injured in life who finds salvation through the love of dogs.

Leading Role The Best Interpretation Award at Cannes 2021 went to Kaleb Landry Jones for his role in Nitram.

But this was not the only project in Besson’s purse. According to Hollywood ReporterThe director filmed a romantic comedy with the greatest mystery, throughout his imprisonment in 2020.

The feature film offered at the Cannes Film Market is called June and Johnny. It was funded by Luke Besson himself, supported by his wife, Virginia Besson-Sila, through EuropaCorp.

The feature film is shot with a careful young team and on a small budget, far removed from the latest superpowers by Besson, Valerian and Anna.

We do not know the details of the story yet, but we already know that the main roles are played by Luke Stanton Eddie and Matilda Price.

Note that the director will soon be back with a producer hat on Arthur Malédiction. This is a horror feature film taken from its Arthur and the Minimoys franchise.
