Storm risk in several northern and northeastern states. Coast of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro with big waves.
Cloud cover over Brazil
A new cold front advances along the coast of Rio Grande do Sul on Tuesday, prompting an increase in cloudiness and rain over parts of the state. Heavy clouds have already begun to roll over Rio Grande do Sul’s border with Uruguay.
The warm and humid air that prevails in the north and north-east of the country favors the formation of heavily charged clouds, which cause heavy rain showers. On the northern coast of Brazil, areas of instability are reinforced by the action of the Intertropical Convergence Zone. At the same time, the intensification of offshore winds increases the instability on the east coast of the northeast.
The heat and high humidity favor the formation of some thunderstorm clouds also over the Midwest and Southeast of the country.
