Within days of its release, it’s already number 4 on Netflix and only going up. South African series Furtive seems to be appealing to subscribers who are mostly enamored with Blood & Water actress Gayle Mabalani on screen.
She plays a housewife who is desperately searching for her husband, while a dark conspiracy revives the tragedies of the past, leading her to the worst.
On its AlloCiné page, where it is rated 2.8/5 for only 11 ratings, viewers are talking about “Good thriller“”which stops the viewer to the endBut what stands out the most is the comparison with another Netflix production called L’ombre de Fatma. And for good reason, Furtive is its remake.
The Turkish TV series released on the platform in April 2021 in 6 episodes received great reviews from subscribers. It was rated 4/5 on AlloCiné and praised the acting of its lead actor Burku Biricic, its suspense, narrative structure and its intensity. Since then fans have been waiting for only one thing, its update.
The problem with Stealth is that Netflix doesn’t mention anywhere on the platform that it’s a remake of The shadow of Fatma. What makes some subscribers angry. Evidence on the series sheet on AlloCiné or on Twitter, where some Internet users expressed their displeasure.

“When I started watching this series, I told myself I already knew the story. I did my research and indeed it is a remake of the excellent Turkish series Fatma’s Shadow (also seen on Netflix and still streaming. To this day!).
The actress who plays the housekeeper, BURCU BIRICIK, is extraordinary and much more understated than in the South African series. The latter is, unfortunately, an almost exact copy of the original, and suddenly all the stops come down for those who saw it first.
That’s why I gave only 2.5 points, because there were actually no surprises while watching. Personally, I highly recommend L’OMBRE DE FATMA.” (Janer)
