‘Tyler Rake 2’: release date, trailer, synopsis and more about the sequel with Chris Hemsworth

‘Tyler Rake’ was a success at its premiere and remains in the top ten most-watched Netflix movies of all time, currently ranking sixth with 231.34 million hours watched in its first 28 days. One of the reasons was the very long and complicated sequence shot of ‘Tyler Rake’, which could have become one of the best action scenes ever. It’s no wonder Netflix will confirm a sequel shortly after its releaseeven though we had to wait a while and even though the end of ‘Tyler Rake’ wasn’t very hopeful…

Sam Hargrave and Joe Russo return to direct and writerespectively, behind the scenes, and of course Chris Hemsworth will also return. The first movie, one of the best movies of 2020 and one of the best action movies of the 21st century, ended without clarifying the fate of Tyler Rake, but a sneak peek in September 2021 confirmed the obvious: #RakeLives.But, what can we expect from his return? ‘Tyler Rake 2’, Release Date

Aim: the release date of ‘Tyler Rake 2’ will be June 16, 2023 on Netflix. Perfect for a splash of action and summer adrenaline.

‘Tyler Rake 2’ was filmed between November 2021 and April 2022, with reshoots in November 2022. So it was to be expected that everything would be on track by the June release window.

‘Tyler Rake 2’, Synopsis

The first official synopsis of ‘Tyler Rake 2′ (Extraction 2’ in the US, ‘Rescue Mission’ in Latin America) says the following:”After barely surviving the events of the first film, Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is back and tasked with another deadly mission.: rescue the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.”

We imagine that the sequel will be largely unrelated to the first film, as the only thing that needed to be resolved was whether or not Tyler was alive. We know he is, so there’s nothing else that really connects the sequel to the first movie. Joe Russo has even been saying that ‘Taylor Rake 2’ is “very different” from that one and that it is “his own movie”:”It has a different color scheme. It’s set in a different part of the world. It has a different pace, a different tone than the first one,” he explained. “And that, for us, is an interesting way to approach serializing a story because it’s more surprising and unexpected, and you won’t get exactly the same movie you got last time.”

‘Tyler Rake 2’, Cast

Chris Hemsworth he’ll be back as Tyler Rake (of course) and he’ll be joined by Golshifteh Farahani as Tyler’s partner Nik Khan and adam bessa as Nik’s brother, Yaz. It is unclear if Rudhraksh Jaiswal will return as Ovi, but we doubt it.

Newcomers to the sequel are Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili. However, we don’t yet know any of her roles or if there are any other notable cast members to discover.
