2018’s New Generation offered six versions of Spider-Man for the price of a movie ticket (or DVD/Blu-Ray). Five years and an Oscar for Best Animated Feature later, its sequel The Spider-Verse (even in France) promises twice as much work.
And even more so, because it’s the many variations and variants of Spider-Man we see in this absolutely insane new trailer.
After acquiring his powers and learning what made him Spider-Man, Miles Morales learns how to use them this time and becomes a hero when he comes into contact with an elite group that brings together the best versions of themselves across multiple universes.
Spider-Man and the Avengers, including Miguel O’Hara (voiced by Oscar Isaac), who the promo has so far introduced as the villain of the story. In the feature film expected to hit our theaters on May 31st, it will obviously always be that way.
But this trailer highlights the opposition between Miles and the one who also calls himself Spider-Man 2099, showing that the two men will become enemies in the pursuit of justice and the use of their respective powers.
All in an adventure that takes us to several different worlds (each with its own graphic style) and where we find Gwen Stacy, as well as Peter Parker, who became a father.
But for now, there’s no sign of Spider-Pig or Spider-Man noir, even if a surprise appearance isn’t out of the question in a film that still seems to have a deck of cards.
If the result will be this spectacular trailer, but who knows how it will be fun and cool when one of the most iconic songs from the first opus sounds (“what is the danger”And with this idea of Miles having to write his own superhero story being put to good use, we can already prepare for a new summit. I’m waiting for episode 3, in a year.
