The iPhone 17 lineup could get a 120Hz ProMotion screen on all models

All iPhone 17 models should finally debut with ProMotion, 120Hz refresh rate for smooth images and lower battery consumption

A apple could bring the 120Hz refresh rate ProMotion display to all iPhone models as early as 2025, according to estimates by trusted market analyst Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC). He also expects the debut of under-screen Face ID for more expensive models launched later that year.

In DSCC’s prediction, all iPhones will gain LTPO-type OLED displays from 2025, offering a variable refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on the content displayed on the screen, reducing battery consumption and still offering a smooth and softer.

Currently, only the most expensive and powerful Apple products offer a display with ProMotion technology, including MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and iPhone Pro models.

While the common duo of the iPhone 17 series will debut the 120Hz screen while retaining Dynamic Island (which debuts on all iPhone 15 models this year), the premium duo is expected with one big exclusive feature: the placement of Face ID under the display and use of a single circular notch for the front camera.

The arrival of Face ID under the screen in common models should take place two years after the debut of the premium duo: in 2027 with the iPhone 19. Right now, the most powerful models of Apple mobile phones should adopt the front camera under the screen , offering uninterrupted edge-to-edge viewing for the more expensive versions.

This early debut in premium models and late arrival in mainstream versions has a reason: to keep the cheaper models at an attractive price and to attract more attention to those looking for the best iPhone of the year with exclusive features.

As mentioned, this year the entire iPhone 15 line should debut with Dynamic Island, decreeing the end of the large format cutout at the top of the display and its complete replacement with the pill notch that offers interactivity thanks to the exclusive software resources of Apple. The quartet with will also arrive USB-C replacing the Lightning connector AND new rounded corner design.

The most powerful duo, composed this year by iPhone 15Pro AND iPhone 15 Pro Maxwill come exclusively with vibration simulated click side buttons and a greater change in components since the iPhones 4. The devices will also be the only ones with a new titanium finish instead of stainless steel, and are expected to achieve the feat of The thinnest bezel display in the world.
