Fans compare scenes from “Shrek” to “Harry Potter” and they are almost the same: who copied who?

In the same way that almost identical scenes were shown between “Wednesday” and “Harry Potter”, now fans have found similarities in the Hogwarts wizarding movies with those of “Shrek”.

This is not the first time that fans have discovered identical things in other productions with the green ogre films, as it was previously shown that “House of the Dragon” “stole” scenes from “Shrek”.

Although now the comparison with “Harry Potter” doesn’t seem to make it so clear who copied who, because both films are contemporary and the similarities are many.

Fans Compare Scenes From ‘Shrek’ And ‘Harry Potter’ And Their Similarities Are Uncanny

Unlike other comparisons where the plot or story moments are very similar, the similarities pointed out between “Shrek” and “Harry Potter” focus more on the same moments and scenes.

For example, scenes that are compared include Shrek’s awkward dinner with his in-laws in the second film and the banquet for the students in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”

In both scenes you can see a character (Shrek and Ron Weasley) eating chicken or turkey legs with both hands and in a cartoonish manner, although the context of the scenes is not similar.

Other scenes that have the same energy, according to fans, include dragons in each franchise, as there are equal moments in which the heroes ride these fire-breathing creatures through the air.

Also in “Harry Potter” there is a chained dragon that the protagonist has to face, while in the “Shrek” saga the dragon, also in the first film and in “Shrek Forever After” is a threat to the heroes.

Even the appearance and personality of the characters have been compared by fans, with the images of Prince Charming from ‘Shrek’ and Professor Gilderoy Lockhart from ‘Harry Potter’.

Even the similarity between the characters is with the teacher and later director Dolores Umbridge, who has a dress style and physique very similar to the Fairy Godmother from “Shrek”.

The similarities found even reach two characters who at first glance seem to have nothing in common, but true fans know that Professor Remus Lupine resembles the Big Bad Wolf from “Shrek” as he is a werewolf.

Finally, fans have pointed out that the organ house in the swamp from “Shrek” and Hagrid’s stone hut and that it is also surrounded by nature are very similar.

Although the fan comparisons are only similar scenes and as a humorous exercise, it should also be noted that the first films of both series were released in 2001, so neither could copy the other.
