From Moon Knight to “live action,” Oscar Isaac will now be a Spider-Man in “Across the Spider-Verse” with a version of the Latino character from the future, who will apparently be the nemesis of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore).
The second trailer for ‘Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse’ not only gives a look at many more variations of the friendly arachnid, but also reveals that the story will be of epic proportions.
The film could even answer the question of who is the most powerful Spider-Man in cinema, since all the multiverse variations of the character will be hunting Miles Morales at some point.
Every Spider-Man Fights Miles Morales in Epic ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ Trailer
The sequel to the award-winning 2019 animated film ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ is coming in 2023, and with the second trailer, Sony Pictures has shown what the plot will focus on.
The trailer shows Miles Morales as the only Spider-Man in his reality, but as he tries to balance his role as a superhero with his family and school life, Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) appears in front of him.
Stacy (aka Spider-Gwen) takes her friend to a party where dozens of Spider-Mans from other universes converge, all thanks to Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac) the Spider-Man 2099.
However, it seems that in order to become a true Spider-Man, Miles Morales must overcome a tragedy and agree to sacrifice his father for the good of the universe.
Miles refuses to accept this and this is what causes Miguel O’Hara to turn against him and even turn all versions of the arachnid against the young protagonist.
‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’: references Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire
While there has been much speculation as to whether Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will appear in ‘Across the Spider-Verse’, the new trailer confirms the MCU’s existence but seems to rule out Holland’s appearance.
In one scene Miguel O’Hara rejects that Miles Morales can join Spider-Man’s team from the multiverse and mentions that there is a special edition that has apparently already been rejected and is by Tom Holland.
O’Hara is angry about the problems created in the multiverse by Doctor Strange and the “nerd” Spider-Man from Earth in 19999 (i.e. the MCU), compared to what was seen in “Spider-Man: No Way back’.
- Tom Holland also played “The Impossible”, movie available on ViX.
Perhaps in a scene after the concerts, Tom Holland and his version of Peter Parker will appear waiting for Miguel O’Hara’s call, or with the other Spider-Man avoiding seeing him.
On the other hand, the versions of Andrew Gardfield and Tobey Maguire could appear in the film, since in the trailer you can see a large number of different arachnids, and there are some that have costumes very similar to the “live-action” ones.
Likewise, fans have pointed out that Sony placed scenes and dialogue from the three Spider-Man films in the film’s international trailer, so this reference could be a hint at his appearance at some point in the film.
