In October 2021, Dying Can Wait hits theaters, marking Daniel Craig’s final foray into the James Bond suit.
This 25th installment of the adventures of Agent 007 was a success and collected almost 800 million dollars in worldwide revenue.
Since then, Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, the saga’s historical producers, have been looking for a new actor to play the role of a super spy in Her Majesty’s service.
If the latter’s name is slowly coming to mind, it’s time to digest the end of the Daniel Craig era, rumored to be the man to direct this 26th film in the franchise.
According to the Daily Mail, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, star of Fleabag, would meet Barbara Broccoli in the prospect of making the film. The actor was especially involved in the script for the dying can wait.
For the big boss of Eon Productions, the studio behind the James Bond license, Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be the number one contender for Sam Mendes and Cary Fukunaga, the last filmmakers to direct 007.
“He has tremendous talent. He will be able to bring a more modern, more rejuvenated vision of Secret Agent Bond.”– said the producer.
After serving Queen Elizabeth II, the next agent will be in the Secret Service of His Majesty King Charles III.
In anticipation of the new adventures of James Bond, Phoebe Waller-Bridge will take part in the adventures of another iconic character of popular culture: Indiana Jones. She will play Helena, the archaeologist’s niece/goddaughter in Le Cadran de la DestinĂ©e, in theaters June 28, 2023.
