Who are the Brazilians who dropped out of the Forbes billionaires list this year?


Compared to the same ranking published in April last year, 14 Brazilians left the list and three new names entered

Magazine forbes released on Tuesday 4, in addition to its traditional list of the richest people in the world, the list of Brazilians worth more than $1 billion in 2023.

Compared to the same ranking published in April last year, which counted 62 members, this year’s ranking has only 51 names. The list has three new members: Itamar Locks, Blairo Maggi and Hugo Ribeiro, linked to the André Maggi group, producer of soy and other products.

Another 14 Brazilians dropped out of the rankings. See below, in alphabetical order, who are the Brazilians who appeared in the billionaire ranking in 2022, but are not in this year’s list.

Cândido Pinheiro Koren de Lima, 77 years old

Oncologist, Pinheiro Koren de Lima is the founder and chairman of the board of directors of Grupo Hapvida.

Candido Pinheiro Koren de Lima Junior, 52 years old

Candido Junior is the youngest son of Candido Pinheiro Koren de Lima. He is Vice President, Commercial and Relations of Hapvida and serves as a board member.

Dulce Pugliese de Godoy Bueno, 76 years old

Dulce Pugliese de Godoy Bueno is a co-founder of health care worker Amil, along with Edson de Godoy Bueno, her ex-husband, who died in February 2017. United Health Group bought 90% of Amil in 2012. Dulce owns a stake in the 48%. in Dasa, network of diagnostic medicine laboratories.

Ermírio Pereira de Moraes, 90, and family

Son of José Ermírio de Moraes, who founded the Votorantim Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Brazil, which operates in more than 20 countries in the pulp and paper, agri-food, energy, aluminum and cement.

Guilherme Benchimol, 46 years old

Guilherme Benchimol is the founder and chairman of the board of XP Inc.



Henrique Dubugras, 27 years old

Henrique Dubugras is co-founder and co-CEO, with Pedro Franceschi, of Brex, a corporate credit card fintech based in San Francisco, USA.

Jorge Pinheiro Koren de Lima, 50 years old

Jorge Pinheiro is the eldest son of Candido Pinheiro Koren de Lima, founder of Hapvida and CEO of the company.

José Luis Cutrale, deceased

José Luis Cutrale owned Sucocitrico Cutrale, a processor and distributor of concentrated orange juice, and was president of Cutrale. Known as the “Orange King,” he also had businesses in cereals, logistics, bananas, salads, condiments, sodas, snacks, real estate, finance, and healthcare. He passed away on August 17, 2022of natural causes, aged 75.

Luiz Frias, 59 years old

Luiz Frias commands Grupo Folha, one of the largest media conglomerates in the country, which includes the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, acquired in the 1969s by his late father, Octávio Frias. He is also the founder of UOL and CEO of its subsidiary PagSeguro Digital, a payments company.

Luiza Helena Trajano, 71 years old

Luiza Elena Traiano he is president of retailer Magazine Luiza, which has nearly 1,000 stores in Brazil and an expanding e-commerce arm.

Maria Helena Moraes Scripilliti, 92, and family

Maria Helena Moraes Scripilliti is the co-owner of the Votorantim Group conglomerate. She is the heir of the founder José Ermírio de Moraes.

Pedro de Godoy Bueno, 32 years old

Pedro de Godoy Bueno is the heir to Amil and also the CEO of the diagnostic company Dasa since he was 24 years old. He became Brazil’s youngest billionaire at 29.

Pietro Franceschi, 26 years old

Pedro Franceschi is co-founder and co-CEO, with Henrique Dubugras, of Brex, a fintech corporate credit card.

Rubens Menin Teixeira de Souza, 67 years old

Rubens Menin is the founder of MRV Engenharia. He also founded Banco Inter and launched CNN Brasil.
