School of Life on France 2: Will we see Guillaume Labbe (Vincent) again in the second season?

Two years after the broadcast of the first season, L’école de la vie returns this Wednesday, April 5 at 21:10 on France 2 with the long-awaited – and very successful – season 2, which now follows the course of both the professorial and the professorial the course. The intimacy of a new teacher played by Julie de Bona (Les Combattantes, Plan B).

Vincent Picard, a history and geography teacher camped out by Guillaume Labbe (I promise) really gives way in the first season to Alexandra Delage, a passionate French teacher and close to her students who also leads a high school theater workshop.

And who will try to help some teenagers in their first grade who have serious problems that they are trying to hide. During his own battle with cancer, he was recently diagnosed.

“This new season keeps the basics of the previous season, that is, the teacher, which is the common thread of the six episodes, the stories around the students in each episode, and the teachers, the torture roles, which are recurring. School characters, around the principal he plays Florence Pernell. A structure not found in other series in the genre”Nagui, the producer of the School of Life, told a press conference recently.

A fairly new format for television, between series drama and anthology, where almost all the teachers from the first season return in supporting roles – Bruno Sanchez, Yanig Samot or Melanie Page – but which, each season, focuses on its main plot. A different teacher. And which was already a trademark of the 30 Lives of Quebec series, which The Life of School is adapted from.

Guillaume Labbé almost appeared in Season 2

In 30 Lives, the main cast of the season still continued to appear in subsequent episodes, this time in a supporting role. This is not the case for Guillaume Labbe, who does not take on the character of Vincent Picard at all in the second season of the France 2 series.

However, the production and the writers wanted to include Vincent Picard in an anecdotal, wink-wink way to explain that he continued to exist in this high school, but unfortunately that could not be done.

Vincent (Guillaume Labbe) and Leo (Bruno Sanchez) in the first season.

“We almost got Guillaume Labé in season 2, but Guillaume’s shooting schedule and ours didn’t line up. He wanted us to try and it didn’t work out.”Nagui explained when introducing these new episodes to the press.

But if The School of Life Season 3 does see the light of day, the star producer and France 2 host would love to have Vincent Picard and Alexandra Delage on board one way or another.

“I want there to be a wink in the third season, if there are 3 seasons, with the presence of Guillaume Labbe or Julie de Bona, as if they were walking on the playground, in a wink”. Anyway, the idea is running.
