‘I’ll Never Work for Netflix Again’: Understand Sex/Life Actress’s Harsh Criticism About Lack of Support in Season 2

Sex/Life is one of the most steamy series in the Netflix catalog and recently returned for new episodes in its second season.

Sex/Life is one of the most steamy series in the Netflix catalog and recently returned for its second streaming season. The six new episodes of the production have been more demanding for actress Sarah Shahi, who plays the protagonist Billie Connelly, so much so that she complains about the lack of support from the team of the series.

“I definitely haven’t had the support that I had in season 1 from the people involved with the show,” Shahi said in an interview on the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast. “It’s become a very different thing for me and I’m not afraid to say it. I struggled with the material… I mean, I’ll never work for Netflix again after I say all of that. But I just can’t lie,” she stressed on behind the scenes problems.

One of the main issues he had trouble with in Season 2 of Sex/Life was writing new episodes on Netflix, calling some storylines too “gimmicky.” “It was just a challenge, but it’s part of what I do. I won’t always get along or get along with a director. I won’t always like what I have to do or say, but that’s my job, it’s to make it believable “added the actress.

Sarah Shahi hoped to work closely with Adam Demos, who plays Brad Simon, who in the first season starred in several sex scenes that gave something to talk about. By the way, the two actors are in a real-life relationship. “I really enjoyed our stories and enjoyed working with him. He was a brilliant scene partner. [Na segunda temporada,] I worked so much and he worked so little. It’s, like, 60 seconds into the whole thing. I’ve never seen that,” Shahi regrets her scene partner.

Will Sex/Life have a third season on Netflix?

Sex/Life follows Billie Connelly (Sarah Shahi), a housewife with two young children who lives in a Connecticut suburb. But she wasn’t always like this: before marrying the lucky and loving Cooper (Mike Vogel), she led a wild life in New York City. Together with her best friend Sasha (Margaret Odette), she had fun every night, never missing an opportunity. Now, the deeper Billie sinks into everyday family life, the more she misses her eventful past and, more importantly, her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Brad (Adam Demos). Caught between her real responsibilities and her sexual desires, she begins to write a diary, putting on paper wild fantasies about her former lover. One day, her husband finds the book and realizes Billie’s need to go back to being who she was. Thus, the couple embark on a journey of self-discovery, which will put their marriage in the midst of a crisis.

A third season of Sex/Life hasn’t been confirmed yet, but its creator, Stacy Rukeyser, previously told Variety that she doesn’t intend to end the series just yet. “We certainly don’t intend to [a 2ª temporada] be the last. I think there are more and more stories to tell with these characters.”

The two seasons of Sex/Life are available in the Netflix catalog.
