The Three Musketeers 2: What’s the Sequel Date? The first hints about who is waiting for you!

The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan just came to the big screen! But did you know that a sequel is coming out in a few months? From the beginning, The Three Musketeers was really considered a diptych, with the first episode centered around D’Artagnan (Francois Civil), in theaters yesterday, and the second centered around Millade (Eva Greene).

If it is not uncommon for two parts of the same diptych to approach each other, this will not be the case here. The date chosen for the sequels to open is December 13, 2023, leaving 8 months between each.

Why is this choice? Director Martin Bourboulon answers us:We could imagine several configurations. We had to decide. It seemed to us as fair as possible. There was also a technical parameter. I have barely finished editing the 2nd film.

I still have to do all the finishing touches: sound, picture, special effects are not finished. I would not be ready to release the film. It was played three months later, or a little later. It seemed to us that the extension in December was what we wanted and not too long. You may be given time to consider the first one. This is a compromise that was made quite early on.”

It is essential for us to have a second operational period of the first part before releasing the sequel.

guest A question from our colleagues from Boxoffice ProArdavan Safai, the president of Pathé, also gave some clarifications regarding this strategy.

“We asked ourselves how to sequence the films today so that the other one does not get less reception. When we go to the cinema to see a movie, the basis of the public who will go to see the second movie is necessarily the one who saw the first movie and no one else. What can we expect from this sequel?

Based on the character played by Eva Green, the film will pick up where D’Artagnan left off and focus on Millet’s story: from her past to her future and her schemes with Cardinal de Richelieu (Eric Ruff).

“This film is made in two parts, and really in the second part we explore more of my character, Milady, who is much more stubborn, much more of a warrior. There are real fight scenes. In the second part, we really understand why Milady became Milady.
