11 years after its cancellation, one of the longest-running series in history is finally returning to television

One of the longest-running and most popular series of the 90s and 2000s is about to make a big return to television.

New York Police Judiciaire, the flagship series created by Dick Wolf, which spawned the spin-offs New York: Special Unit and New York: Organized Crimes, returns for its twenty-first season this Friday, April 7th, eleven years on 13th Street. After the series was canceled in May 2010.

In September 2021, the American channel NBC indeed announced that it had ordered an additional season of the legal series, which was suspended after 20 years of existence. A revival that will continue in everyday life”The police, who investigate crimes, and the prosecutors, who prosecute criminals“.

In this new season of New York Police Court, also known in France as New York District, prosecutor Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) once again interrogates the Manhattan court. Detectives and assistant New York District Attorneys will try to solve the most sensitive cases, some in the field and some in court.

Along with Sam Waterston, who plays Jack McCoy for the occasion, we can also find Anthony Anderson slipping into the shoes of Inspector Kevin Bernard once again.

Jeffrey Donovan, seen on Burn Notice, Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), Camryn Manheim (Ghost Whisperer) and Odelia Halevy (Midnight Texas) round out the cast playing new characters that support the two heroes.

Launched in 1990 in the United States and aired in France on France 3, 13ème Rue, then TF1, New York Police Court has seen many actors such as the late Jerry Orbach, Chris Knott, S. Epatta Merkerson, Alana De La. Garza, or even Jeremy Sisto.

The detective series also spawned a prolific franchise that includes no fewer than seven spin-offs, including New York Special Sectionwhich is still airing for 24 seasons, NYPD, NYPD, LAPD, Law & Order: True Crime, and most recently New York Organized CrimeThe series itself received from the special department.

Note that season 21 of New York Police Judiciaire was so successful that NBC decided to order an additional season, which is currently airing in the United States.
