Star Wars The Acolyte Series Promises To Be Frozen Vs Kill Bill

Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated Star Wars Celebration panel in London revealed exciting news about the upcoming Disney+ series ‘The Acolyte’. Showrunner Leslye Headland talked about how she wanted to tell the story of the Star Wars universe from the perspective of the “bad guys.”

“I wanted to delve into the Star Wars universe and tell the story of this whole world that I love so much from the perspective of the villains,” Headland said. “What I presented was a cross between Frozen and Kill Bill. Surprisingly, I didn’t get kicked out of the building… That’s what happens when the bad guys are the losers.”

The series is set in the era of the High Republic, 100 years before the franchise’s prequel trilogy. It is the height of the Galactic Empire, also known as the Golden Age of the Jedi. The series follows the Sith, a group of Dark Jedi who have set their sights on conquering the galaxy.

The trailer showed Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae as a Jedi Master and Amandla Stenberg in a fight against The Matrix’s Carrie-Anne Moss as a Jedi, with Jodie Turner-Smith saying, “It’s not about good or evil. force. and who can use it.” The trailer ended with a group of Jedi lighting their lightsabers at the same time and with no release date, simply saying “2024.” “The Acolyte” is still in production, but filming is expected to wrap next month.
