Stranger Things is more than ever the goose that lays Netflix’s golden egg. While fans eagerly await Season 5, the streaming platform is already working on a sequel with the Duffer brothers. We already know that a prequel as a play is in the works – it will be presented in London in late 2023 – but today we learn that the creators are also working on an animated series.
“We’ve always dreamed of making Stranger Things the animated series we used to watch on Saturday morning TV when we were young. The fulfillment of this dream is particularly interesting. We couldn’t be more proud Eric Robles And his team suggested. The script and illustrations are amazing. We look forward to introducing them toDuffer said in a press release.
It’s not yet known what the Stranger Things animated series will be about, or even if it will follow Elven and his friends back to Hawkins. On the other hand, expect a retro look that pays homage to the performances of the 80s. A bold choice that provides a counterpoint to the current animation and one we can’t wait to discover.
Between a play project, an animated series, and presumably other spin-offs in the works, the excitement surrounding Stranger Things isn’t likely to die down just yet.
