When the casting was announced, many criticized the appearance of Bella Ramsey, who is genderqueer, because she doesn’t look identical to Ellie from the games. Now it’s Pedro Pascal, the Chilean actor who brought Joel to life, who is facing a peculiar controversy over the salary he was getting for taping the HBO Max series.

The first season of “The last of us” had nine episodes, and in each of which Pedro Pascal appeared, he earned $600,000, as reported by Variety in its article: “The ‘streaming boom’ keeps TV salaries at dizzying levels : Here’s What Kate Winslet, Jason Sudeikis and More Earn.”
In contrast, Bella Ramsey received a salary of $70,000 per episode, as reported on the Showbiz Galore portal. This would mean that Pascal had eight times the salary ($530,000 to be exact) compared to his co-star.
