The cartoon group participates in the scene of Honra entre Rebeldes; find out what happened to the adventurers in the end
One of the most discussed scenes in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among the Rebelsa film based on the famous tabletop RPG that hits Brazilian theaters this Thursday (13) is the appearance of the group of heroes from the cartoon Dragon cave.

Part of the scene was teased at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 and only recently leaked online. The teaser shows Honor’s group of adventurers among the rebels in an arena and, on the other side, the iconic sextet formed by Hank, Sheila, Diana, Eric, Presto and Bob. The characters aren’t introduced, but it’s impossible for fans not to recognize them.

The appearance of the heroes of Caverna do Dragão in the film is not only a nice reference to the cult cartoon of the 80s, which by the way was much more successful in Brazil than in the United States. This is an important moment in the film where the drawing team is very involved.
In the scene in question, the protagonists of Honor among the Rebels face a great challenge in a gladiatorial arena, together with two other groups of adventurers. The team’s goal is to go through a labyrinth full of traps and dangers, where they will also have to face a panther displacer, a predator capable of teleporting, and a mime, the infamous monster capable of taking the form of treasure chests to be devoured by greedy and unwary adventurers …
As the action follows the group led by Edgin, the gang of Eric, Presto, Hank, Diana, Sheila and Bob also progress through the maze, collecting weapons and escaping traps. Almost. At one point, the film’s heroes find the Cave of the Dragon adventurers trapped in a cage and decide to help them escape, but end up changing their minds and leaving the classic group behind!
Shortly after, something terrible happens: one of the villains of the adventure, the Red Wizard of Thay, casts a spell in the arena that turns everyone into the undead. Edgin’s group manages to escape and the arena seems empty… but where have the guys from Dragon’s Cave gone?
What happened to the heroes of Dragon’s Cave
The final fate of the heroes of the D&D cartoon is left open in Honor between Rebels, and even its directors have different ideas about what happened to the adventurers.
“We don’t kill them,” Jonathan Goldstein told the North American website Polygon. “They were safe in the Sanctuary cell and escaped the displacing panther. We hire the best”.
Director John Daley thinks the magic of turning into the undead has reached the characters. “We hint at it, but we never say it clearly. I don’t think we can do that“, he explained. “It’s like the spinning top in Inception”.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Rebels opens this Thursday (13) in theaters.
