The minimum bets of six lotteries have been adjusted in values; see how the premium calculation works
A Federal Economic Caixa announced this week that it will raise the stakes of six of its lotteries. The question that remains, however, is: if it weighs more in the pocket, will the premium also be greater?
Caixa has not officially manifested itself on the matter, but it is very likely that the premiums will increase, yes. This because prize values are defined by a percentage calculation of the amount raised in each contest. That is: if the bets continue to be placed at the same level as before the change, the tendency is that the value of the prize also increases.
The increase in the value of bets is due to inflation, according to Caixa. The last adjustment was made in 2019.
How is the Mega-Sena award defined?
In the case of the Mega-Sena, for example, 43.35% of the proceeds from bets placed in each draw go to the gross prize. However, that total doesn’t go all the way towards the bet that matched all six numbers. See how it looks:
• 35% of the collected amount is distributed among the winners of the 6 numbers drawn;
• 19% stay with the hitters 5 numbers (fifth);
• 19% for the batsmen 4 numbers (quadruple).
You 27% remaining they also stack if someone reaches the 6 dozen drawn. This amount is divided into two parts:
• 22% are distributed to Mega winners in contests end 0 or 5;
• 5% are accumulated for the prize of Mega da Viradadrawn at the end of the year.
What are the new betting prices?
See below the current values and the adjustments that should take place in individual games until the end of the month in each lottery:
- • MegaSena: from BRL 4.50 to BRL 5.00;
- • Lotoeasy: from BRL 2.50 to BRL 3.00;
