This is the first documentary film about Vasily Vakulenko, which contains rare archival footage, many of which will be seen by a wide audience for the first time. The filming was attended by family and friends of the musician. Especially for the film, interviews were given by Konstantin Khabensky, Ivan Urgant, Dmitry Nagiyev, Guf, Scryptonite, Vladi, Sergey Shnurov, Evgeny Antimony, Andrey Nikitin (The Flow), Smokey Mo, the organizer of the first performances Pavel Titov and those who already know Basta well years. Also, for the first time, Basta’s mother, Anna Vasilievna, will appear on the screen, who will talk about her son.
Filming of Supergame began in the midst of a pandemic, in the spring of 2020. Initially, a small video about the recording of the Basta 40 album was conceived, but with the advent of archival materials, the project was scaled into a full-length documentary.
I always watched films with pleasure and read biographies of people I was interested in, – says Vasily Vakulenko (Basta). – Although I myself never wanted to record my own life. The film evokes different emotions in me – somewhere very difficult, because there are a lot of memories and archival footage that no one has seen. But there are also many funny things. Life has taught me that you need to treat yourself with irony, and to other people – with great attention. And the film turned out rather not about me, but about the world around me, life and people, with references to the past and reflections on the future.”
Vasily himself did not see some fragments, for example, one of the first performances with the song “My Game”. The film also includes amateur videos that were filmed after Basta arrived from Rostov-on-Don to Moscow in 2005.

The name “Basta. Supergame” is borrowed from the track “Rap, which is fiercely rushing”, where there are lines: “My game over the years has become a supergame, going through the level has become a superhero …”, which accurately reflect the intent of the film.
The premiere of the film, as well as Basta’s solo concert at Luzhniki, was postponed several times. The film was constantly supplemented with new material, in total, the authors had at their disposal about 500 hours of video material. On June 18 of this year, Basta will perform at the largest concert venue in Russia – the Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena, and SUPERIGRA will be released a few weeks before the concert.
