Meredith Artley, CEO and Senior Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of CNN Digital, is leaving the company.
Artley announced his decision to employees on Friday morning.
“It was a profitable, long-term perspective. And it’s time for my next family adventure. “I am very proud to transfer to this diverse and immensely talented team,” wrote Artley. “A lot of CNNs are doing it right. How interesting it is to think how far you go. I’ll spoil you, *even when I’m away, I notice the increase in animal stories.”
Veteran Los Angeles Times, International Herald Tribune s უ New York TimesArtley switched his digital presence to CNN in 2009 after joining the cable news channel. While CNN has always been a major player in digital news, its editorial output grew significantly during Artle’s tenure as the company created a full-fledged digital newsroom.
“CNN has always been a copper ring to me,” Artley wrote in his memo. “On the LATimes, IHT and NYTimes, CNN’s home page was frequently seen on news desks and our feeds were on every monitor. The number of audiences was even alarming… We saw conflicting reports and were surprised by CNN’s digital access.
Artley leaves CNN just a month after CNN found itself under new management again, this time with Warner Bros. as part of the discovery. One of the first corporate moves was the shutdown of the CNN+ feed from CNN+, led by CNN Digital CEO Andrew Morse, who also left the company.
Chris Licht officially took over as CNN’s CEO earlier this month, and this week revealed the breadth and depth of CNN’s digital spotlight, as well as a plan to restart its morning show and launch a successful week-long ad with a news magazine. News. Wallace.
