Good news for CANAL+ subscribers: Apple series and movies will be available for free

Apple TV+ and Canal+ have signed a historic partnership agreement. Specifically, all movies and series on the Apple platform will be available to all Canal+ subscribers at no additional cost. From April 20, Canal+ subscribers will see series like Severance, The Morning Show and even Ted Lasso in their subscription.

The statement was made yesterday by the head of Canal+, Maxim Saada, directly on Twitter:

All Apple TV+ programs can be viewed on myCanal, and in addition, the multi-year agreement includes the broadcast of original Apple TV+ programs such as Foundation and Tehran on the Canal+ channel.

This agreement is a first for Apple TV+ in France and gives the growing platform access to a large subscriber base in a significant territory. Apple has recently expanded outside the United States with co-productions such as Liaison, a French-English spy thriller starring Vincent Cassel and Eva Green, and Sharon Horgan’s Bad Sisters.

Canal+ thus establishes its position as a distributor after signing up with Netflix, Disney+ and Paramount+, all of which are available with a Canal subscription. Although Apple TV+ now offers a subscription for €6.99 per month, its entire offering is now free for all Canal+ subscribers.
