You can now control Spotify via Strava


The Strava app has partnered with Spotify to allow users to control music playback directly from the fitness app

The fitness tracking app that Strava has partnered with Spotify to allow its users to listen to music, podcasts and audiobooks directly in the app, without having to open the audio streaming platform.



Through an already integrated player available on Strava, users can play, pause, skip and search audio tracks from Spotify, or quickly activate their favorite tracks and continue with their physical training. The app also announced that it will take care of Spotify’s popular “Workout” playlist starting April 20.

Integration for well-being

According to Spotify’s VP of business development, Ian Geller, the partnership with Strava is a way to keep up with users’ habits and be more present in their routines.

“One of our main goals is to be wherever our listeners are, whether it’s at a run, at the gym, or anywhere else. This integration with Strava is another way we are with our users and enable them to connect with music and audio love,” Geller said on the Spotify blog.

With over 100 million users worldwide, Strava is a fitness tracking app, with over 30 different training modes, including running, swimming, weight training, surfing, etc.
