The attacker who fled to the United Arab Emirates will be sent to Brazil to serve five preventive arrest warrants
The National Secretariat of Justice confirmed, this Sunday 16, the concession, by the United Arab Emirates, of the extradition of the aggressor Thiago Brennand to Brazil.
In a statement, the secretary advised that the procedure will follow the regular procedures, but reported that there is no forecast of when Brennand will arrive in Brazil. In the meantime, some of the women who filed a complaint against the attacker spoke to Uol.
“With his arrest, those who were afraid must report him (…) all victims have the right to close this cycle of their life,” said medical student Stéfanie Cohen, who reported a rape.
The feeling is the same as Helena Gomes, model and entrepreneur, physically attacked by Brennand in a gym in Sao Paulo. “It’s an incentive for women who couldn’t file a police report to go to the police.”
Helena says she has spoken to about 250 women since last August who report being victims of Brennand. “They didn’t want to file a police report for fear of dying. I’ve also spoken to men who have reported getting into fights with him,” she said.
Thiago Brennand, a businessman from a wealthy family, currently lives in a luxury hotel in the United Arab Emirates, where he fled after a series of complaints filed by women for assaults of various kinds, rapes and fictitious imprisonments.
