The Idol: The series with Lily Rose Depp and The Weeknd promises to be more scandalous than ever (and it already has a date!)

Even before its release, The Idol sparked a lot (a lot) of ink. It is no coincidence that the Cannes Film Festival chose the series for competition presentation. After many rumors and press articles in the chaotic backstage of the show, the mystery is slowly increasing. For starters, there’s a release date: June 5 on Prime Video with Warner Pass.

Along with this information, a new trailer has been posted online. with a tempo heading give more Featuring Britney Spears, the images promise a sultry streak that seems to be pushing the envelope. The story follows the toxic and dangerous relationship between Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), a globally successful young pop star, and Tedros (The Weeknd), an eccentric nightclub boss.

The Idol has been touring since late 2021 Difficult production. The departure of director Amy Seimetz amid disagreements, script rewrites, creator Sam Levinson’s morals being questioned (euphoria)… The tornado behind the scenes even led to an investigation. There is no doubt that the first two episodes, which will be shown on the Croisette, will excite festival-goers. The Weeknd and Lily-Rose are waiting for Depp on the red carpet.
