“To come back, it would have to be for the right reasons and at the right time,” Evans says of the possibility of returning as Captain America.
Steve Rogers gave up Captain America’s shield to Sam Wilson at the end of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, passing the superhero baton and ushering in a new generation of Avengers. But, although it was quite an emotional goodbye and it felt like the closing of a cycle, Marvel fans have been waiting for his return from the moment he dropped the shield. And, knowing Kevin Feige, it is a return that will happen sooner or later… Well, sooner rather than later, according to Chris Evans himself.
In an interview with Good Morning America to promote ‘Ghosted’, the film in which he stars on Applet Tv+ with Ana de ArmasChris Evans addressed his possible return as Cap:
“Oh, you know, I’d love to. That was a very special time in my life,” Evans said. “I’m very protective of the character. That’s the problem. To return, it would have to be for the right reasons and at the right time. It still feels a bit early. Anthony Mackie is Captain America right now. There are other stories to tell. We ended the story on such a good note that I’m afraid to tarnish it.”
The actor has also revealed that ‘Ghosted’ will feature cameos from various UCM colleagues: “There are some cameos, that’s right. Can we say this? I guess we can,” he joked. “There will be some old friends from Marvel, [pero] I hate asking people to do cameos, it’s the worst. If it fits into your schedule, I guess [lo harĂ¡n]but these guys rose to the challenge and were there for me, it was great.”
Directed by Dexter Fletcher (‘Rocketman’), ‘Ghosted’ will tell us the story of Cole (Evans), hopelessly in love at first sight after having a date with Sadie (De Armas). However, she doesn’t reply to her messages (a manual ghosting), but he is convinced that they are destined to be together. So he takes a sudden trip to London as a romantic gesture. But this trip will discover the reasons why Sadie has disappeared without a trace: she is a spy for the CIA.
The Apple TV + movie will premiere on the platform this friday april 21.
