Gross scene with Nicolas Cage happened during filming of Kiss of the Vampire (1988)
In the filming of several films, some actors extrapolate the limits to bring more veracity to the scenes – but it can backfire. This was a case of Nicolas Cage in The Vampire’s Kiss (1988), cult classic directed by Robert Bierman. In filming, the star ate a live cockroach and was quite “traumatized” by the experience.
During an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, cage assured that “he will never do that again,” in addition to asking “sorry for having done all that.” In the commentary section of the film’s DVD (via NME), the actor spoke about the disgusting scene:
I saw it as a business decision because when people see the cockroach go into my mouth… [eles] really react.
The artist also commented on the subject in an interview with mediacorp, in which he reflected on the consequences of eating a live cockroach. “I think the only experience I’ve had in The Vampire’s Kiss it was enough. Every time I think about it, sometimes I get traumatized and I don’t want to do it again or something like that again, “she stated. See the scene below:
