Grey’s Anatomy on TF1: Are April and Jackson finally a couple? Answer in today’s episode

This Wednesday, April 19, at 9:10 p.m., TF1 will air the final episode of Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 featuring Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery) and Sarah Drew (April Kepner).

Over the years and seasons, Grey’s Anatomy has seen the formation of many iconic couples. Among them is a duet created by April Kepner and Jackson Avery.

Married on a whim in Season 10, divorced in Season 12, Japril has always been one of the series’ most iconic marriages. Unfortunately, Grey’s Anatomy’s Sarah Drew’s departure in 2018 prevented this reunion fans were hoping for…until Season 17.

During episode 14, Jackson finds April to tell her he wants to go to Boston. He suggested that the young woman join Matthew and Harriet so that she would not be separated from her daughter. April confessed to him that she had separated from her husband. An announcement that greatly delighted fans who were already imagining a happy ending for this iconic Grey’s Anatomy couple.

Jackson and April now live in Boston. A young man took the reins of the Avery Foundation to help those in need. But if viewers imagined that the couple reformed after their move, no confirmation was made after their departure, the authors preferred to leave room for doubt.

So, in the Season 18 finale, fans are finally getting the curtain on this mystery. The answer to that question comes at the end of the episode, when Jackson and April kiss in the elevator, confirming that the exes set the fire in Boston.

Sarah Drew is considering returning to the series

In the Deadline columns, Sarah Drew made her return to the series for this special episode. “I was very honored and grateful to be invited to participate in such an important episode. I really felt like I never left and was always part of the family“, she said.

The actress then returned to filming this special episode for her, as she set foot at Gray Sloan’s memorial for the first time since leaving the series in 2018, filming a Season 17 episode at April’s house.

“It was quite a surreal and extraordinary experience to return to the set, to walk through the halls where I lived for nine years with the people I worked with and loved very much. I found myself shooting a scene with Chandra and I thought it was very normal.”

Catch the double penultimate episode of Grey’s Anatomy season 18 this Wednesday, April 19 from 9:10pm on TF1. The channel will broadcast the new 19th season in France next week.
