Lionsgate Television is developing a series based on the Twilight series of novels by Stephenie Meyer. According to Deadline, work on the project has already begun. The writer, according to the source, will take part in the creation of the show. So far, the series has neither a screenwriter nor even a potential distributor. The project is at an early stage of development. It is also unknown if any of the original cast members will return to the show.

Most likely, executive producer Eric Feig, who worked on the original films of the vampire saga, will be responsible for the shooting. Lionsgate Television has previously filmed Mayer’s books. Between 2008 and 2012, five feature films were released that became cult. Their total box office gross exceeded $3.4 billion worldwide.

In the center of the plot of Stephenie Meyer’s books is the story of a 17-year-old girl, Bella. She goes to her father in a small American town and falls in love with her classmate. It turns out that he comes from a family of vampires who refused to attack people. The main roles in the films were played by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
