Five years after part 4, titled The Last Key, the insidious saga returns to the dark rooms with chapter 5: The Red Door.
After James Wan, Lee Whannell and Adam Robitel, it’s Patrick Wilson’s turn to step behind the camera.
The actor will also reprise his role as Josh Lambert, which he played in the first 2 episodes of the franchise. This is his first feature film as a director.
Produced by Blumhouse, the license’s 4 films grossed $542 million worldwide with a combined budget of $26 million! So the saga is the goose with the golden eggs for Jason Blum’s company, which specializes in low-budget horror productions.
The story of The Red Door begins ten years after the events of the last key. Dalton Lambert, Josh’s son, is entering college.
Tye Simpkins gives him his features again after starring in the first two films. A young man will be at the center of the story, as seen in the first disturbing images of the feature film.
