On March 25, actor Jonathan Majors was fired from several projects amid legal turmoil after an altercation with a woman.
Fresh from starring in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in which he plays the MCU’s new big bad, Kang the Conqueror, the American actor was ruled out of the film adaptation of Walter Mosley’s novel The Man in My Basement. He had to answer to Willem Dafoe.
Jonathan Majors also withdrew from the biopic about American singer Otis Redding, Otis and Zelma, for which he was tipped, and lost several commercials for the Texas Rangers baseball team. The news follows his breach of contract with his longtime manager and agent.

We remind you that the 33-year-old comedian is facing charges of domestic violence after an argument with a woman on March 25. During the incident, according to the agency, the victim was taken to the hospital with “light head and neck injuries”. Majors is scheduled to appear in court on May 8 after being indicted by New York prosecutors.
For his part, Jonathan Majors claims his innocence, and his lawyer said in a statement that he has evidence that can exonerate him. “Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and there is evidence that he was the victim of an altercation with a woman he knew. We are collecting and immediately presenting the evidence to the prosecutor in hopes that all charges will be dropped.
That evidence includes video footage from the car where the episode occurred, testimony from the driver and others who saw and heard the altercation, and most importantly, two written statements from a woman who denied the allegations. All this proves that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and that he did not offend. Unfortunately, this incident happened because this woman was going through an emotional crisis (…)“

What is the future for Jonathan Majors at Marvel?
What Marvel has planned for Kang the Conqueror is still unknown. The House of Ideas really planned to build its Phase 5 around the supervillain that first appeared in the Loki TV series and in the movies recently. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. According to the American site DeadlineDisney and Marvel will wait to see how the situation develops and the outcome of the lawsuit.
But if Jonathan Majors is found guilty, it’s entirely possible that the studio will decide to replace him in future films, playing the parallel universe option card to justify the change on a narrative level. On the other hand, the actor should make a good appearance in Loki Season 2 after filming wraps up in October 2022. If Marvel doesn’t go through with the new cast…
