Fan-criticized ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 ending explained: what will happen to Mando?

Obviously we’ll still have to wait to find out exactly where Grogu is in the Star Wars sequels. However, the third season finale of “The Mandalorian” answered other mysteries of the galaxy far, far away.

Chapter 8 of the Disney+ series gives us the conclusion of the overarching plot where the Mandalorians seek to return to their home planet Mandalore and also answers what the evil Moff Gideon’s (Giancarlo Esposito) plans are.

Although the pace, consequences and outcome of the third season of “The Mandalorian” has not satisfied all fans as some had high expectations or hoped that their complicated theories would come true.

“The Mandalorian” season 3 ending explained, what will happen to Mando and Grogu?

Picking up right where chapter 7 left off, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) is freed from his captors and together with little Grogu (who even has his own Tamagotchi), they search for Gideon to end their rivalry a forever. all. all.

Meanwhile, the other Mandalorians regroup and prepare to launch a counterattack against Gideon’s Imperial base, which he secretly built on the planet Mandalore and is where he conducts experiments to clone himself.

Eventually, united, the Mandalorians defeat Moff Gideon’s Imperial forces and reclaim their planet. And even as the dark sword is destroyed, Bo-Katan proves to the villain that the Mandalorians are much more than their artifacts.

In the end, Grogu saves Manto and Dean from the exploding base, and in a grand ceremony the Great Forge is rekindled and Bo-Katan (Kate Sackhoff) takes over as the leader of his people to lead them into a new era of prosperity.

For his part, Dean Jarrin officially adopts Grogu, and the gunsmith names the little boy Dean Grogu, a Mandalorian apprentice. Now Mando must take him on his adventures to teach him all about his culture and ways.

But before that happens, Dean visits New Republic officials to offer his services and hunt down the Empire’s forces left on the fringes of the galaxy.

So, Din and Grogu return to the planet Nevarro, where their friend and minister Greef Karga gives them a house on the outskirts of the city where they can live and rest in between adventures that are sure to come in Season 4.

So season three ends with a happy ending for everyone and the promise of seeing more Mando and Din Grogu in the future, but returning to its dynamic from season one: collecting rewards.

‘The Mandalorian’: Season 3 finale divides fans

Although the third season finale of ‘The Mandalorian’ resolved all the plots and mysteries revealed in each chapter, in addition to being action-packed, there were mixed opinions among fans.

Some fans pointed out that the episode felt rushed, being the shortest final episode of each season, resolving everything smoothly or something to look forward to in the future, and that there was no post-credits scene like “Andor”.

Another thing that some fans found strange and even a little disappointing was that Manto didn’t take off his helmet and Pedro Pascal’s face was visible.

This, combined with rumors that Pedro Pascal was not on set because he was busy with “The Last of Us,” left some with a bad taste in their mouths as they waited to see the show’s star in the final episode.

There were also those who defended the ending and made sure it had all the classic substance that has characterized Star Wars since George Lucas created the franchise decades ago.

Many fans online were excited for the action-packed finale that saw Mando and Grogu take center stage, working together and furthering their father/son relationship.
