Nicholas Hoult confesses his opinion about Robert Pattinson’s ‘Batman’: “I don’t fit as well in that world as he does”

The actor acknowledged feeling satisfied with his career, despite the inevitable disappointments that can accompany a “no” in a casting.

Recently, Nicholas Hoult shared some of the roles he had lost in big Hollywood productions, among which titles such as ‘Mission Impossible 7’, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ or ‘The Batman’ could be found. The actor, who just premiered the horror comedy ‘Renfield’ with Nicolas Cage, and who starred in ‘The Menu’ last year, spoke of the latter of the cases, admitting that he does not think he fits in the film as well than her partner, Robert Pattinson, who ultimately got the part.

Talking with GQ Spain, the actor acknowledged feeling satisfied with his career, despite the inevitable disappointments that can accompany “no” in a casting. Leaving his position very clear, and clarifying that when he mentioned these films it was not in an attitude of complaint, but as a simple analysis of his career, the interpreter admitted the good results that his colleagues had given to the films and, in particular, praised the Pattinson’s work in ‘The Batman’.

I think Matt Reeves’ ideas were fantastic and he made a brilliant movie. And I also think that Rob [Robert Pattinson] he did an amazing job with the character and I loved seeing him in it. So I don’t think I would have done as good a job as him ultimately. I don’t think he could have fit as well into the world Matt created as Rob did..”

When they tell you for the first time that it’s not you, it’s painful, but then you have to accept it normally,” he added. “I can pretty well accept that they didn’t cast me and when I see the cast actor doing a great job, I enjoy it and it’s good, I think ‘yeah, they made the right choice. They knew what they were doing.'”

The British interpreter has been in this all his life, as they say. His debut came at an early age, he was 7 years old when he faced his first fiction, in 1996.

In recent years, we have been able to see him in films such as ‘La Favourite’, by Yorgos Lanthimos, accompanying Emma Stone and Olivia Colman; or in the film adaptation of the Marvel comics, ‘X-Men’, in which he has given life to Hank McCoy (Beast).

Years after sharing the screen with Nicolas Cage in ‘The Weatherman’, both actors have reunited to immerse themselves in their new vampire adventure (‘Renfield’). Cage, with a good pair of fangs in his jaws, plays Count Dracula, who returns from the dead to wreak havoc.

The film, directed by Chris McKay, was released in theaters in Spain on April 14.
