The vice tightens around Benoit
At the police station, Damien and Karim now have proof that Argentail’s monster is back at work after the killer of Emma’s parents used the same modus operandi as a serial killer. As the details of his ritual were never published in the press, it cannot be copied.
Georges has news about Benoit Letelier. Although the SVT teacher was in high school at the time, the police officer discovered something that could change the situation. Indeed, the temperature of Garnier’s apartment was manipulated. Thus, the heating was turned up to 40° the night before the murder, and then turned off at 7 a.m., three hours before the police arrived at the crime scene. This means that the killer wanted to cover the time of his murder. The bodies stayed warm longer, the analyzes of the medical examination were distorted. In fact, Emma’s parents had died between 9 and 10 pm the day before, and Benoit was not in high school at the time. Moreover, if there is anyone who knows the temperature of the body after death, it is the professor of SVT.
Meanwhile, Rafael reveals to Lisa that psychiatric experts concluded that he was remarkably sane when he kidnapped Benoit. A blow to a young woman who won’t be eligible for parole. When the lawyer then informs her that Benoit will not be a civil party, Lisa loses her temper. And for good reason, he sacrificed everything to avoid making another victim. in vain While she may continue to insist that Benoit Argentail is a monster, Lisa realizes that Rafael doesn’t believe her. The latter then points out to him that his role is not to believe her, but to protect her as much as possible.
Emma, on the other hand, is devastated by the death of her parents. Fortunately, the teenager can count on the unwavering support of Camille, who does everything to change his mind. While they are having tea, the two young women are visited by Benoit, who has come to listen to his pupil and offer his most sincere condolences. After Emma thanks him, Benoit admits that he lost his parents at the same age. Upon returning home, Rafael is surprised to see the professor in his living room. Immediately, he explains that he’s here to support Emma, then stands up for them. On the other hand, Camille and Rafael find it strange that he moved in with Emma, they are not close.
At the same time, Georges informs Karim that the temperature in Garnier’s apartment has indeed changed remotely, and not thanks to the family’s phone. Unfortunately, they have no way to trace the device used because the killer took care to hide his IP address.
Investigators then go to Benoit’s house and ask him about his schedule last Thursday. The teacher replies that he was at the class council to correct the copies before going to dinner at the spoon. At the spoon, Audrey confirms Benoit’s alibi to Georges. When he arrived at 8.30pm and left around 11.45pm, he failed to kill the couple.
Not far from there, Victoire and Amelie are walking through the streets of Seth when they come across Emma sitting on a bench. After learning about her parents’ death, Amelie offers her condolences and says that she is there for him if he needs her. If Emma thanks him, he realizes that there is nothing he can do for her. So Amelie tells him that her parents were also killed by the Argentail monster. Distraught to hear this, Emma sheds a few tears and tells Amel how difficult this is for her. When Lisa’s sister offers to take her home, Emma explains that she prefers to be alone. During the conversation, Amelie and Victoire learn that Benoit has come to visit her. Just as Amelie is about to tell her to avoid him, Victoire stops her, realizing that her classmate isn’t ready to hear certain things yet.
Without waiting, Victoire goes to the police station and warns Georges that Benoit is having fun around his victims’ children. Although he replies that the professor has an alibi for the Garnier murder, Victoire thinks that he has once again managed to fool everyone. Seeing that she is worried about Amel, Georges confirms that the killer does not attack his victims’ children. However, Victoire worries that Benoit will change his modus operandi on a whim. To appease her, George promises to do everything he can to catch the culprit.
A few hours later, Audrey is at the police station because she remembered a detail about Benoit Letelier. It was fine with the spoon on Thursday evening, but it wasn’t between 9.30pm and 11.00pm. Considering this element, now the police have no doubt that the SVT professor is not clear in this story.
At nightfall, Amelie is walking the streets when Benoit passes her in a car. When he offers to take her home, Amelie refuses. As he claims, Amelie panics and runs away. Benoit follows him in the car…
