Nicolas Cage’s favorite movie is one of the most amazing in his filmography!

On May 31st, Nicolas Cage presents Renfield, a horror comedy in which he plays the famous Dracula. While promoting the feature film, the untouchable American actress revealed what her favorite movie was… from her own filmography! Would you think of the sailor and the barrel? Or on the volte/face? You will be surprised!

When interviewed by Stephen Colbert, Nicolas Cage said that the movie he liked the most in his “film” was the amazing and exciting drama PIG. “This is the best movie I’ve ever seen.”he declares when a journalist asks him for his top 5 works.

Due in theaters in 2021, PIG tells the story of a truffle hunter who lives as a hermit in the Oregon wilderness and must return to civilization when his truffle crop is kidnapped. In Portland, he will have to face the demons of his past.

The Pig evokes a certain aspect of 1970s American cinema, even if director Michael Sarnosky wasn’t trying to take inspiration from or pay homage to New Hollywood. “If you deliberately design a film to be unique, then you run the risk of the result seeming forced”he says.

“So we did the opposite: we relied on the character’s shoulders and the structure of the script to tell the story as honestly as possible.”continues the filmmaker. “If some viewers find the film a little strange, then so much the better, but that is absolutely not on purpose. As for directors who have influenced me, I would say the brothers. Cohen or Jim Jarmusch.”

And beyond PIG, what are some movies that Nicolas Cage adores in his rich cinematic career? The 59-year-old actor brings Thriller Creepy Mandy, Martin Scorsese’s Open Grave, The Bad Lieutenant: Standoff in New Orleans, and Joe. In other words, not his most famous works for the general public. It’s not clear, I tell you…

Nicolas Cage will be Dracula in “Renfield,” in theaters May 31.
