God Drops on Apple TV+: This Japanese Superstar Will Become Your New Obsession

He plays, sings, dances, composes and is going to conquer the hearts of Internet users with his series Les Gouttes de Dieu, in which he plays one of the main roles with Fleur Geffrier. Tomohisa Yamashita lends his features to Tomin Issei’s Tadashi Agi and Shu Okimoto manga adaptation of Wine, here’s the synopsis:

The world of gastronomy and savoir-faire mourns: Alexandre Léger, creator of the famous Léger wine guide and a guardian figure in oenology, has died recently at the age of 60 at his home in Tokyo. He is survived by a daughter living in Paris. A young woman goes to Tokyo. While reading the will, he discovers that his father has amassed the world’s largest wine collection. In addition to the right to this inheritance, Camille will have to meet a young and brilliant oenologist, Tomine Ise, whom Alexandre trained and whom he describes in his will as his “spiritual son”.

If many discover his face thanks to the Apple TV + series, the Japanese actor still enjoys real celebrity. First in Japan, where he made a name for himself through music by joining the boy group NEWS, of which he is the leader.

Affectionately called Yamap by his fans, he is quickly launching a solo career and taking the opportunity to try his luck in movies. He toured in several Japanese productions (Kurosagi, Operation Love…) quickly attracting the attention of international studios. Tomohisa Yamashita then moved on to large-scale projects. He was recently seen in the Spanish series The Head and the excellent TV version of Tokyo Vice.

But it is thanks to Netflix that its popularity is exploding – already among fans of great Japanese dramas and K-Pop. He landed a role in Alice in Borderland, a Japanese SF series that was a real success on the platform. He slips into the skin of the King of Clubs, who has a special… completely naked.
