I have been contacted by various sources about this show. And they told me that what they’ve heard is that John Boyega is going to be back in this movie.
The insider went on to note that any issues with John Boyega’s Star Wars franchise would be resolved after a “conversation” between the actor and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. In this upcoming film, Rey will try to fulfill her promise to Luke Skywalker by restoring the Jedi Order.
John Boyega’s history with Lucasfilm has come under fire because the actor didn’t appreciate how his character was treated in the saga. Indeed, upon the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, the actor openly criticized the franchise for seemingly portraying Finn as a more heroic figure. He then announced that he was done playing the character of Finn. However, sometimes feelings change and Daisy Ridley reprises her role, it’s not impossible for John Boyega to do the same.
