“If I weren’t married”: Helen Mirren’s reaction after shooting the series ‘1923’ with Harrison Ford

Helen Mirren has opened up about what it has meant to shoot certain scenes with her co-star in the series ‘1923’. And it is that his partner has been none other than Harrison Ford.

The 77-year-old Oscar winner acknowledged that she was “very excited” to share a bed with Ford, 80, who plays her husband, in the prequel series to the hit ‘Yellowstone,’ for scenes in The Wrap’s 2023 awards season screening series. “I had to be in bed with him, you know. I’m dressed up here,” the British lady said, pointing to her neck. “But I’m laying there and I’m thinking, ‘I’m in bed with Harrison Ford.’ She was so excited that I can’t tell you. She had to pretend that he was cool“Don’t tell him,” she said. “Promise me,” she teased.

But that It was not the first time that Mirren and Ford were a couple in front of the screen: in 1986 they co-starred in Peter Weir’s drama ‘The Mosquito Coast’. Working with him again nearly four decades later, the actress praised her co-star as “immensely generous and incredibly professional.” “He’s amazing. He really is,” she said. “The stature that he’s had, as a great big movie star all that time, and at the same time as someone who doesn’t like to be the center of attention. ‘1923’ is a prequel to ‘Yellowstone’ sequel to ‘1883’. The series features another generation of the Dutton family led by patriarch Jacob (Ford) and matriarch Cara (Mirren) and their own set of challenges in the early 20th century, including the rise of Western expansion, the Great Depression and the Dry Law.

Paramount+ renewed the western for season 2 last month. Taylor Sheridan’s sprawling universe series also stars Brandon Sklenar, Aminah Nieves, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, and Julia Schlaepfer.

Earlier this year, Ford also praised Mirren in an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show. After Colbert snapped a photo of Ford and Mirren in the movie and both agreed that Mirren was “still hot,” the host asked Ford if he had ever made out with Mirren. Colbert commented on an anecdote about the actress kissing him when she went to his show. But Ford evaded the answer and chose to praise the great work of what he called “Dame Helen Mirren”: “It has been extraordinary to watch her. There is a lot of physical action [en 1923]and she jumps up and does things you wouldn’t imagine Helen Mirren could do.
