Brian Cox will be the next James Bond villain in ‘007’s Road to a Million’
Amazon Prime Video today announced that Brian Cox (‘Succession’)the Scottish actor who won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role as Logan Roy in the HBO Max series, has been cast as “The Controller”, the enigmatic character who will control the fate of the contestants in the upcoming show ‘007’s Road to a Million’, a contest set in the James Bond universe which can be seen by the end of the year through the platform in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
In ‘007’s Road to a Million’, we will follow various contestants competing in a grand adventure with the aim of winning the ultimate prize of £1 million. Filmed in several of the most emblematic places of the Bond saga, from the Highlands of Scotland through Venice or Jamaica, this television format will pay homage to the James Bond films at the same time that it will be a true test of intelligence, resistance and heroism. In addition to overcoming obstacles, the contestants, in groups of two, must correctly answer hidden questions in different parts of the world before they can advance to the next challenge.
Brian Cox, “The Controller”, will be a cult (and hidden) villain who enjoys the difficulty in crescendo of the trips and questions that the contestants must overcome. He has millions of pounds to give away, up to 1 million per couple, but he’s not going to make it easy. While lurking in the shadows, he watches and controls everything that is happening..
“I’ve been able to see how ordinary people approach a James Bond adventure,” says Brian Cox. “As they travel the world and visit some of the most iconic locations from the Bond saga, things get more intense and interesting. I have enjoyed my role as villain, and the license to test the participants“.
‘007’s Road to a Million’ is a collaboration between Amazon Studios, EON Productions, 72 Films and MGM Alternative with the producers of the James Bond saga, and It will be released at the end of 2023 on Amazon Prime Video on a date yet to be confirmed.
