What kind of game is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Like its predecessor, Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an action-adventure game with souslike elements. However, the presence of these elements does not mean that Survivor is necessarily a challenging game like many others in the genre, but one that implements many of its main mechanics.
With many interconnected paths, stopping points where the player can save their progress, evolve their character and recover their health – as well as bring enemies back to life – it’s not hard to see the similarities to games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring. Survivor also features rewarding fights, especially against bosses and huge monsters, where you can spot opposing patterns to fight back and you must always be alert to dodges and blocks at the right times.
Additionally, much of the mythology of Jedi: Survivor is told through objects and echoes found throughout the setting, which contextualize the game’s entire story, characters and enemies.
when it happens
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the final events of Fallen Order. The first game in the Cal Kestis saga takes place after the execution of Order 66, an event at the end of the Clone Wars, between Episodes III and IV in theaters, in which the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic, under the command command of Emperor Sheev Palpatine, turned against the Jedi Generals and exterminated them, causing the destruction of the Jedi Order.
Who is Cal Kestis

Star Wars Jedi protagonist Cal Kestis is a Force-sensitive human who served as a Padawan in the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars, survived the early events of Order 66, and became a Jedi Knight in the Age of Galactic Empire.
Cal was one of the few surviving Jedi and went into hiding for years after being confronted by the Inquisitors. Now no longer a Padawan, he has become a powerful Jedi Knight and has the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order weighing heavily on him, which makes his crusade against the Empire all the more perilous. Cal must decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.
What is the story of Survivor
In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal Kestis continues to travel the planets and tend to what’s left of the Jedi legacy. Along the way, he makes enemies and faces powerful enemies, members of the Empire who grow stronger, meeting important allies.
Survivor is part of the official Star Wars timeline, which means that old fan-favorite characters, heroes, or villains could appear at some point in the narrative.
